.In 1997 Chris's Brother Steve Miles opened Steve's Hydroponics Headquarters, Buy, Sell, & Trade, AKA Steve's Hydroponics HQ. At this store Chris managed the entire operation under Steve's guidance.
Steve decided to sell the store in 2010. The new owners named it Steve's Hydroponics Equipment. They decided to retire in 2022.
After 23 years as a sales associate in the hydroponics industry, knowing all the suppliers and delivery services, having so much product knowledge and experience, and knowing all of the customers, Chris decided he didn't want to change careers.
.Mile High Hydroponics & Curiosity Shop opened on September 6, 2022. The idea for the store began when the owners of Steve's Hydroponics Equipment in Lower Sackville NS decided to retire and close the store.
Chris Miles, the owner of Mile High Hydroponics & Curiosity Shop, began gardening as a chore during childhood. He helped plant and care for the gardens right up until harvest. He has experience in a wide variety of gardening, both indoor and outdoor gardening. This is where his love and interest in gardening began.
With so much gardening experience, knowledge, and 23 years of retail experience in the gardening industry, Mile High Hydroponics became a reality. The name came to mind as Chris's and Steve's last name is Miles and Chris's dog is named Myle. It just seemed fitting to give that name to the store.
Here the focus is on both indoor and outdoor gardening. The focus is on gardening anything you want to grow. Cannabis growing has historically been the focus of hydroponics in general. Our goal is to help everyone grow anything.
Micro greens, leaf lettuce, tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, and some herbs are some of the foods that can be grown using hydroponics. With the rising cost of healthy food in the grocery stores, it just makes sense to grow your own produce both inside and out.
We can help you with the products, nutrients, and knowledge to help you start from seed or transplant right through to harvest and storage of your harvest.
It is with great sadness the family of Stephen Ewen Donald Miles, 60, of New Ross, announce his unexpected passing on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in the QEII-Halifax Infirmary. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Roy and Joyce (Hemeon) Miles.
Everything Steve did he did with intention and love for his two girls. He loved spending too much time taking care of his beautiful property, having a good laugh and always made sure he took a break for 4:20. He loved talking business and going down memory lane to his bar days with anyone who wanted to listen. MUMM and his part in the organization was always a proud moment for him. The stories will live on along with his memory, forever.
Steve will be deeply missed by his two girls, Sierra Miles and Olivia Miles (Vincent Ingram) as well as his daughter Jade Windrow; partner, Karen Cook; brothers, Michael (Hilda) Miles, Randy Miles, Wayne Miles and Chris Miles; granddaughter, Scarlett Mae Ingram; the mother of his children, Cheryl Aker; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
